On 9-10 November 2024, the Persatuan Seni Jahitan Kreatif Malaysia (PSJKM) participated in the Fiesta Rakan Muda, an event organized by Malaysia’s Ministry of Youth and Sports. PSJKM showcased its eco-printing technique and conducted interactive workshops for 200 participants. Each attendee learned how to design their own eco-printed tote bag, an activity that combined creativity with sustainability.
Empowering Youth Through Sustainable Skills
Eco-printing is not just a creative outlet; it equips participants with valuable skills. By learning this technique, participants can turn natural materials into marketable products, fostering entrepreneurship. This aligns with PSJKM’s mission to uplift communities through creative crafts. Moreover, these workshops highlight the importance of sustainability and eco-conscious practices. Participants walked away with hands-on experience and the potential to create their own eco-friendly products, paving the way for future income-generation opportunities.
A Partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports
The event also demonstrated the fruitful collaboration between PSJKM and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. This partnership reflects the ministry’s dedication to empowering young Malaysians through skill-building activities. Under the leadership of Hannah Yeoh, the current Minister of Youth and Sports, the initiative has promoted youth engagement in meaningful, sustainable practices. PSJKM extends heartfelt gratitude to the Ministry for organizing this opportunity and supporting eco-friendly initiatives that resonate with Malaysia’s youth.
